This 1970’s basement in Durham, NC offered us a unique opportunity to start from scratch. The largest obstacle for our clients was figuring out where to begin the process of development. After review of the wish list, CORE built a vision to design a number of usable, modern spaces. Then began the construction. All of the old walls were removed, steel beams were installed, masonry fireplaces removed, and concrete was hammered out to create a new layout. We began by adding a family room with an AV system and a custom wet bar for entertaining and relaxation. A new bedroom was also created complete with walk in closet. The bathroom was reconfigured and modernized with an emphasis placed on our clients aging-in-place. All floor surfaces have hard tile with radiant heating cable systems installed to ensure warm feet in the cold months of the year. Once the dust settled, the result is a specatcular new space for friends and family to enjoy for years to come.
